Sixth Form Kick-Start

Students electing to study mathematics in the Sixth Form will be required to build on the GCSE skills from the outset. Though the GCSE is a great preparation for further study, a ten-week hiatus in a student’s engagement with mathematics is certainly a hindrance and new Sixth Form students are often surprised by how much they have forgotten by the time term begins.

All students intending to study IB Mathematics (SL or HL), A Level Mathematics, or A Level Further Mathematics should ensure that they tackle the questions in the attached booklet in order to prepare for the start of the academic year; students will be expected to be fluent in the skills outlined within.
